Cut smarter.
Waste less. Frame more.

The mobile cut optimizer built for picture framers. Scan your work orders, optimize every stick of moulding, and get clean cut tickets — right from your phone.

Every offcut is money in the trash.

You know the drill. A stack of work orders, a calculator, and a lot of mental math trying to figure out the best way to lay cuts across your sticks. You do your best, but there's always waste — cutoffs too short to use, remnants you forget about, and time burned working it out by hand.

Multiply that across a week of batches and it adds up fast. More trips to the supplier, more moulding cost, more time away from the saw.

RailChop does the math for you in seconds. Every cut placed to minimize waste. Every remnant tracked so nothing gets lost on the shelf.

12–18%

Typical moulding waste when cutting by hand or calculator. RailChop's optimizer is built to push that number down.

Everything you need. Nothing you don't.

Built by a framer, for framers. No bloated POS, no subscription to a quoting suite — just the cut optimization tools your shop actually needs.

Smart Cut Optimization

First Fit Decreasing bin packing groups cuts by profile, accounts for kerf width, and lays everything out to squeeze the most from every stick.

Scan Work Orders

Point your phone camera at a cut list. RailChop reads the profile, dimensions, and quantities — then lets you review and edit before saving.

PDF Cut Tickets

One tap exports a clean cut ticket with visual stick diagrams, lengths, and quantities. Print it, share it, or hand it straight to the saw.

Remnant Tracking

Every offcut long enough to reuse gets saved to your remnant library. Next time you optimize, those remnants get used first — before opening new stock.

Batch Management

Group jobs by profile, by day, or however your shop runs. See utilization at a glance and know exactly what's going to the saw and when.

Fully Offline

No internet needed. Everything runs locally on your device. Your data stays yours — no cloud account, no signup, no dependency on someone else's server.

From work order to cut ticket in under a minute.

1

Add Your Profiles

Set up your moulding profiles with widths, stock lengths, and aliases that match your work orders.

2

Scan or Enter Jobs

Scan a cut list with your camera, paste text, or enter dimensions manually. Whatever's fastest for you.

3

Optimize

RailChop packs your cuts across the fewest sticks possible, pulling from remnants first to save material.

4

Cut & Go

Export a PDF cut ticket with stick-by-stick diagrams. Print it or pull it up on your phone at the saw.

Whether you cut ten frames a week or a thousand.

Questions? We've got answers.

Yes, completely. RailChop stores everything on your device using a local database. No internet connection, no cloud account, and no data leaving your phone. Open the app and go.

RailChop's scanner is designed for typical frame shop cut lists — a moulding profile name at the top, and rows of dimensions below it. It handles handwritten sheets and software-printed lists. You set up profile aliases so the scanner knows how to match what's on the paper to what's in your library.

Every time you run the optimizer, offcuts above your minimum remnant length are automatically saved to your remnant library, tagged with the profile. The next time you optimize a batch using that profile, RailChop tries to fill remnants first before opening new stock. You can also add, edit, and manage remnants manually.

No — and intentionally so. RailChop handles the part that happens after the quote: optimizing how moulding gets cut to fill your orders. It doesn't do pricing, invoicing, or customer management. It does one thing and does it well.

RailChop will be available on both iOS (iPhone, iPad) and Android. Sign up above and we'll let you know the moment it's ready.

Pricing details will be announced alongside the app launch. The core optimizer will be available for free, with pro features like OCR scanning and advanced remnant management available as an upgrade.
