Cut smarter.
Waste less. Frame more.

The mobile cut optimizer built for picture framers. Scan work orders, optimize every stick of moulding, track your remnants and stock — all from your phone. Works offline, right at the saw.

Every offcut is money in the trash.

You know the drill. A stack of work orders, a calculator, and a lot of mental math trying to figure out the best way to lay cuts across your sticks. You do your best, but there's always waste — cutoffs too short to use, remnants you forget about, and time burned working it out by hand.

Multiply that across a week of batches and it adds up fast. More trips to the supplier, more moulding cost, more time away from the saw.

RailChop does the math for you in seconds. Every cut placed to minimize waste. Every remnant tracked and valued in dollars so you know exactly what you're saving.

12–18%

Typical moulding waste when cutting by hand or calculator. RailChop's optimizer is built to push that number down.

Everything you need at the saw. Nothing you don't.

Built for the shop floor, not the back office. No bloated POS, no subscription to a quoting suite — just the cut optimization tools your shop actually needs.

Smart Cut Optimization

Multi-pass bin packing groups cuts by profile, accounts for kerf, and lays everything out to squeeze the most from every stick. Supports mixed stock lengths and cost-aware scoring to pick the cheapest combination.

Scan Work Orders

Point your phone camera at a cut list. RailChop reads the dimensions, then lets you tap to assign customers and profiles before saving. No retyping.

PDF Cut Tickets

Export a clean cut ticket with visual stick diagrams, machine dimensions, and customer names. Print it, share it, or pull it up at the saw.

Remnant Tracking

Every offcut long enough to reuse gets saved automatically, tagged by profile with dollar value. Next optimization, those remnants get used first — before opening new stock. Batch cleanup tools keep your library current.

Stock Inventory

Track what's on the shelf. RailChop knows your on-hand stock quantities and factors them into the cut plan — so you're not optimizing against sticks you don't have.

Fully Offline

No internet required. Everything runs locally on your device with a local database. Your data stays on your phone — no cloud account, no signup wall, no dependency on someone else's server.

Shop Floor Tracking

Mark sticks as cut right from the optimize screen. Track progress per batch with visual progress bars on your dashboard. Know what's been cut and what's still waiting.

Machine-Ready Dimensions

Displays the dimension you actually enter at the saw — artwork size for rabbet cuts, material length for point-to-point. No mental math between the cut plan and the machine.

Questions? We've got answers.

Yes, completely. RailChop stores everything on your device using a local database. No internet connection, no cloud account, and no data leaving your phone. Open the app and go. The only feature that requires internet is AI-powered scanning, which sends a photo to our server for processing — and even then, you can fall back to the built-in OCR scanner offline.

The built-in scanner reads dimensions from typical frame shop cut lists — handwritten sheets, software-printed lists, whatever you're using. You assign customers and profiles with a quick tap after scanning. AI-powered scanning (coming soon) goes further — it reads customers, dimensions, quantities, and profiles automatically from any format, no templates needed.

Every time you run the optimizer, offcuts above your minimum remnant length are automatically saved to your remnant library, tagged with the profile and valued in dollars based on your cost per foot. The next time you optimize a batch using that profile, RailChop uses remnants first before opening new stock. You can also add, edit, and bulk-manage remnants manually — including clearing all used remnants at once.

Right now, RailChop optimizes linear (1D) moulding cuts. 2D sheet cutting optimization for mat board and glass is on the roadmap and in active development. Sign up to get notified when it's available.

No — and intentionally so. RailChop handles the part that happens after the quote: optimizing how moulding gets cut to fill your orders. It doesn't do pricing, invoicing, or customer management. It does one thing and does it well.

RailChop is launching on both iOS (iPhone, iPad) and Android. Sign up above and we'll let you know the moment it's available.

RailChop will have a free tier with core optimization features, a Pro tier with OCR scanning and advanced remnant management, and a Business tier with AI-powered scanning for shops that process high volumes of work orders. Everyone gets a free trial to try the full feature set before deciding.
